To change the filter in your transmission, we’ll start by removing the filter and fluid in the pan. Once the fluid is completely drained, we will install a new filter and refill the fluid. We always use the filter and fluid recommended by the manufacturer and follow all manufacturer recommendations on fluid levels.

If your transmission requires a flush, not only will the filter be changed and fluid in the pan drained, but we will also flush the entire transmission system. Again, we will only install the proper filter and fluids based on the manufacturer’s suggestions.

If your vehicle’s transmission is in need of repair, we will only complete the service after providing you with a clear explanation of what’s required, answering all of your questions, and giving you a quote. Some typical transmission repairs include resealing service, transmission rebuild, or clutch service. During a reseal service, we will remove and disassemble your transmission, then replace all external seals and perform a thorough visual inspection.

Once everything checks out, we will reinstall the transmission, refill it with new fluid, and make any external adjustments. When the repair is complete, we will take your vehicle for a spin to ensure the transmission is working correctly and that the leak has been fixed.

Transmission Rebuild

If a thorough assessment of your vehicle finds an even bigger problem like damaged or failed transmission parts, one of our transmission specialists will work diligently to rebuild the transmission for you. We will remove the transmission from your vehicle and disassemble the unit. Using the original unit, we will install new, high-quality parts to rebuild the transmission. We will then thoroughly inspect and clean the internal and external components prior to reinstalling the transmission in your vehicle.

After your transmission is put back in, we’ll add new fluids and filters and make any adjustments needed. Once again, we will take the vehicle out for a test drive to ensure everything is working properly.

Manual Transmission

Tips to Increase the Longevity of Your Transmission

We know how inconvenient transmission repairs can be, so here are some suggested tips to follow to keep your transmission performing up to par:

Check your transmission fluid levels with every oil change.
If the fluid level is getting low, add more.
Once you reach the 30,000-mile mark or two years on your vehicle, have the transmission flushed.
Come to a complete stop before shifting your vehicle. This allows for a smooth shift.
When driving, don’t ride the brake. This makes your transmission have to work harder.
On cold winter days, give your vehicle a few minutes to warm up before shifting it into gear. This allows the fluid to warm up a little so that it can lubricate the moving parts.
