2019 Hyundai Veloster Earns Top Safety Pick

July 30th, 2019 by

One of the many reasons why drivers choose to drive Hyundai vehicles is because they have a reputation for safety. Accordingly, the 2019 Hyundai Veloster recently earned the Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

To earn a Top Safety Pick rating, vehicles must endure five different crash tests, such as roof strength and head restraint, and receive a “good” rating for each one. Furthermore, headlights, front crash prevention and the passenger-side overlap test must also receive appropriate ratings.

The Veloster is the 11th Hyundai vehicle to earn this distinction from the IIHS. Other Hyundai models that have earned the recognition include the Sonata, Tucson, Santa Fe, Santa Fe XL, Ioniq Hybrid, Ioniq Plug-In, Kona, Accent, Elantra and Elantra GT.

The 2019 Veloster has a variety of standard and available safety features that contributed to the award. Standard features include an anti-lock braking system with brake assist and electronic brake-force distribution, as well as six air bags.

The Veloster can also be equipped with top-of-the-line safety technology, such as Lane-Keeping Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Driver Attention Warning and High Beam Assist.
