Hyundai makes the Santa Cruz with two engine options. The bottom trims have a 2.5L inline four-cylinder engine with dual overhead cams with GDI and MPI technology. Hyundai pairs this engine with an eight-speed automatic SHIFTRONIC transmission for a powertrain capable of producing 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. Trailer wiring comes standard, and you can tow up to 3,500 pounds with this configuration.

The Night trim comes standard with this powertrain for a turbocharged variant that comes standard on the SEL Premium and Limited models. The top two have a5L turbocharged inline four-cylinder with GDI and MPI technology. This engine is mated with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters to deliver smooth power and effortless shifting.

This powertrain puts out an impressive 281 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. Upgrading to this powertrain increases your towing capacity to 5,000 pounds.
