Hyundai ACCENT

This Hyundai sedan has a sporty feel and handles impressively for a compact car. The Hyundai 2024 ELANTRA sedan comes in three trims: the SE, SEL, and Limited. They all carry a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine with an output of 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. The ELANTRA accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 8.1 seconds.

SONATA

The 2024 Hyundai SONATA comes in five trims, three of which have a turbocharged engine that you can read about below. The two SONATA trims that are not turbocharged, the SE and SEL, come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an output of 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. That’s enough to take the Sonata from zero to 60 mph in 7.3 seconds.

Turbocharged Options

If you prefer the adrenaline rush of a turbocharged engine, choose the SEL Plus, N-Line, or Limited trims of the Hyundai SONATA.

Under the hood of the SONATA SEL Plus and Limited, you’ll find a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine pumping out 180 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. Hyundai gives the SONATA N-Line trim a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an impressive 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. The SONATA N-Line with the turbocharged engine can go from zero to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds.

Hyundai also offers a performance version of the ELANTRA called the ELANTRA N that comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and an output of 276 horsepower and 289 pound-feet of torque. You can go from zero to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds in the snazzy ELANTRA N model.

Hyundai PALISADE and Genesis Models

The Hyundai PALISADE is a three-row luxury SUV perfect for families who enjoy road trips in a sophisticated vehicle. Hyundai also has a luxury brand of coupes and SUVs under the Genesis brand. Here are the acceleration times and key features of the PALISADE and Genesis models.

PALISADE

The PALISADE SUV comes in five trims, and they all have a 3.8-liter V-6 engine that produces 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. You can get this SUV with the standard front-wheel drive or the available all-wheel drive for improved traction. The PALISADE can go from zero to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds which is quite impressive for a large vehicle.

Genesis

In 2015, Hyundai created the Genesis brand as a spinoff to represent their ultra-luxury vehicles. Within the Genesis brand, you’ll find elegant sedans, fast coupes, capable SUVs, and electrified SUVs. Each model has different powertrains and acceleration times. For example, the 2024 Genesis G80 SUV comes with two engine options. The turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder produces 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque and goes from zero to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds.

For faster acceleration, choose the Genesis G80 with the turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine producing 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. This powerful engine lets the G80 go from zero to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds.

Genesis also has a line of concept cars that includes the high-performance Essentia. This concept car will come with a carbon-fiber body, a sports car cockpit design, and an all-electric powertrain.
