Halloween 2022 events happening in Fort Worth, TX This October

The Fort Worth area is home to a plethora of family-friendly and spooky Halloween events. From fun Halloween-themed exercise sessions to the ultimate haunted houses, there’s something here for every type of Halloween enthusiast. These are our top picks for the best Halloween events in the DFW area this fall.

Autumn at the Arboretum

This year marks the 17th annual Autumn at the Arboretum and it’s sure to enchant both you and your little ones. The theme for this year is “A Fall Fairy Tale” and the exhibits feature scenes from famous fairy tales, including the carriage from “Cinderella.” Some of the other displays include feature scenes and characters from “Jack and the Beanstalk,” “The Three Little Pigs,” and “One Thousand and One Nights.”

Wander through the garden and marvel at the pumpkin houses, then take younger visitors to the Pumpkin Village and maze. Try some flavored edamame from Mighty Beans and look through the vendor market for crafts and snacks. During select weekends, the arboretum hosts pumpkin stacking contests for those brave enough to try their hand at creating a tower of gourds.

Blase Family Farm

Blase Family Farm is a pick-your-own pumpkin patch that hosts several fall activities and events each year. You and the whole family can visit the farm to learn more about Spookley, the square pumpkin that champions anti-bullying. Pick up some pumpkins to take home so everyone can carve a jack-o’-lantern.

When you visit the farm Monday through Friday, your admission comes with access to the petting zoo, a hayride, and a small pumpkin. If you visit on the weekend, you get a hot dog instead of a small pumpkin. To visit the farm, go to the farm’s website and be sure to reserve a time, as all tickets require a time slot.

Cutting Edge Haunted House

According to its website, the Cutting Edge Haunted House was voted one of the best haunted houses in the nation by USA Today. This haunted attraction is multi-story and multi-themed, so you’re sure to get the most out of your admission. The house is located in Hell’s Half-Acre, Fort Worth’s historical meat-packing district. The Cutting Edge Haunted House takes about 55 minutes to explore, and it’s full of actors, realistic props, and amazing special effects.

Fort Worth Stockyards Ghost Tour

To celebrate Halloween with a genuine haunting, consider visiting the Fort Worth Stockyards for a ghost tour. Fort Worth is famous for its ghost activity, and the stockyards are rumored to be especially haunted. During the tour, you can spend 90 minutes exploring the area and learning about the history of the stockyards and the ghosts that may live there. Some stops on the tour include the Cadillac Hotel and Miss Molly’s B&B.

Bring your kids along and walk the Trick-Or-Treat Trail to collect piles of candy, then grab a cup of Halloween punch in a light-up souvenir cup. If you enjoy puzzles and games, you can take part in the headless horseman scavenger hunt and bury yourself in a pit of corn.

Halloween Costume Goat Yoga

Goat yoga is a fun animal-filled activity that allows you to exercise and enjoy interacting with goats at the same time. During the Halloween Costume Goat Yoga activity, the goats have costumes and you’re more than welcome to wear your own. While a trained instructor guides you through several relaxing poses, the goats jump around and graze. You can stop your yoga mid-session to cuddle with a goat when one wanders over, or just enjoy their company during the exercise. Keep in mind that the goats aren’t potty trained and may have accidents during the session.

Official Fort Worth Halloween Bar Crawl

For an after-hours thrill, consider signing up for the Official Fort Worth Halloween Bar Crawl. During the crawl, you can wear an awesome costume and hang out with your friends. Try the spooky drink specials and enjoy listening to tunes from the live DJ. At the end of the night, if your costume is truly amazing, you may win the Halloween costume contest. You must be over 21 years of age to participate in the bar crawl, and the offerings at each bar may change depending on availability.
