2023 Hyundai Palisade
The 2023 Hyundai Palisade was unveiled at the New York International Auto Show, showcasing its new design cues and technological advancements, before being shown at Hyundai Dealers this summer. The flagship of the Palisade met customers’ desire for an SUV that conveyed refinement and utility. Each of the new additions continues to improve upon that original idea while keeping the Palisade at the forefront of its market.
What Is New for the 2023 Hyundai Palisade?
The 2023 Hyundai Palisade received exterior design improvements for its 2023 model. Hyundai updated the front and rear bumpers, along with a newly designed rectangular front grille, giving the new model a more modern and stylish appearance. The 2023 model also added daylight running lights and auto-dimming side mirrors, which can be aesthetically pleasing and helpful in the dark.
The interior has also been updated, with a new starting wheel design and a thin horizontal air vent that stretches across the dashboard. USB-C ports throughout the interior update the car to be compatible with newer technology that relies solely on USB-C hookups. The driver’s seat of the 2023 Palisade also has a massage function, increasing comfort over long car rides and aligning with the Palisade’s luxurious reputation. It doesn’t stop at the driver’s seat, though, as the second and third rows now have heated seats, and the second row has wing-out headrests and seat ventilation.
The technology has also gotten an upgrade, with new technological advances that increase the vehicle’s safety. Features available on the higher trims in older models are now available on the standard model, such as Forward Collision Assist. In addition to the existing features, the 2023 model also adds Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist, Reverse, and Smart Cruise Control with Curve Control. This Palisade also features the newest version of the Hyundai Digital Key, allowing owners to use their smartphones to lock, unlock, and start their cars.
There are four trims available on the 2023 Palisade. The base trim, the SE, has all the standard features and some new additions that weren’t available on the 2022 standard trim. This trim starts at $33,600 MSRP. The next level up, the SEL, has all the same features as the SE, with additional cosmetic features that improve the passenger experience, such as the power tilt-and-slide sunroof. This trim has a starting MSRP of $35,950.
The Limited trim introduces truly high-end features, like the dual sunroof and the surround-view monitor. It has a starting MSRP of $45,840. The premium trim, Calligraphy, has all the previous features but doesn’t stop there. It has a leather steering wheel, quilted leather interior door panels, and a starting MSRP of $47,290.
The exterior of the 2023 Palisade has several new features while also keeping what worked from its previous design. It comes in seven exterior colors: Abyss Black Pearl, Steel Graphite, Rainforest, Typhoon Silver, Moonlight Cloud, Sierra Burgundy, and Hyper White. The Premium trim comes with 20-inch alloy wheels. Higher trims have a dual sunroof as well. This SUV can also tow up to 5,000 pounds and has a feature called Trailer Sway Control, so you can hitch your trailer to the back and take your luxury ride on the road.
Hyundai designed the interior of the Palisade to match its sleek exterior while capitalizing on the space. The new additions to the interior build upon an already luxurious experience, with seven-passenger seating that features second-row captain’s chairs and quilted nappa leather on the higher trims, creating an interior that is soft to the touch and beautiful. There is plenty of cargo space, with foot room and wide seats that make your passengers feel comfortable no matter how long the ride is.
The interior also includes the infotainment system, which has a 12.3-inch fully digital gauge cluster for the driver to use. There is also a 12-inch infotainment screen that comes standard on the dashboard. The driver or passenger can control the stereo system and any phone calls or directions they need to reference. Making this aspect of the car more visible can be a safety feature and a beautiful design addition that helps the driver easily see the speed, gas mileage, and any alert lights that may come on throughout the drive.
The power of the Palisade is just as impressive as its look. The 2023 Palisade features a 3.8-liter V-6 engine, which was standard in the 2022 Palisade as well. This engine produces 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Hyundai pairs this engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain gets 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
You can opt into all-wheel drive from the standard front-wheel drive if you foresee yourself off-roading or driving in extreme weather. Palisades with all-wheel drive capabilities also include a tow mode that reprograms the gearbox to lessen the frequency of gear changes by holding lower gears for longer.
Hyundai has also fitted the Palisade with all its driver assistance systems to make sure that you and your passengers are safe as possible. It comes with a forward collision avoidance assist, navigation-based intelligent cruise control, highway driving assist, and remote smart parking assist. These features can help you stay aware of blind spots and moving objects around your Palisade to avoid having to worry about collisions. Making these features standard or optional on your Palisade is an improvement to its already impressive technology.
The 2023 Palisade improves upon an already impressive legacy by continuing to increase the level of luxury while prioritizing innovative technology and stylish redesigns.
