Fitzgerald

Located on Camp Bowie Boulevard in Ridglea Hills, Fitzgerald is a Gulf Coast-inspired fine dining experience that just opened this year. Chef Ben Merritt, who was a winner on the Food Network’s Chopped, has created a menu that takes traditional Gulf Coast and Texan cuisine and gives it a signature twist. The restaurant’s location is convenient to downtown, TCU, and the Stockyards, so you can have a delicious dinner before going to a game, theater show, or other event.
Since Fitzgerald’s cuisine is inspired by the tastes and smells of the Gulf Coast, it’s not surprising that surf and turf are both huge parts of the menu. You can get locally sourced premium steaks, bone marrow, rib-eye, and even Wagyu Denver steak, cooked to your preferences. For seafood, you can enjoy grilled gulf oysters, hot crawfish and shrimp dip, and Delta fried catfish, all fresh from local sources. Sides include cheese grits, fries, grilled vegetables, and mashed potatoes.
Don Artemio
Opening in early 2022 on West Seventh Street, barely a block away from the Cultural District, Don Artemio will offer guests a high-class Mexican dining experience with authentic dishes. The preview menu features dishes from the northeast of Mexico, made with local ingredients. This is the first Don Artemio location opening in the United States (the original restaurant is in Saltillo, Mexico). The restaurant will feature a full bar and patio seating for outdoor dining, with views of the museums and historic sites of the Cultural District.
You can try several traditional dishes, including cazuela de chorizo, a sausage stew cooked and served in an earthenware pot with spices. If you’ve never tried cactus, this is your chance to add it to your culinary palate — Don Artemio will serve nopalitos fritos, a fried cactus dish with bacon for added flavor. The star of Don Artemio’s menu might be its steaks, which are legendary in the original Saltillo location. You’ll get to enjoy high-quality aged beef and house-made tortillas, along with tequila and mezcal.
Texas Truck Yard
If you’ve been driving out to Dallas to enjoy Texas Truck Yard‘s laid-back atmosphere and exciting menu options, you’re in luck! The popular Texas beer garden is currently constructing a new Fort Worth location on Alliance Town Center in the north of the city. We’re not sure exactly when they’ll open their doors, but when they do, you’ll be able to enjoy grown-up beverages and a warm community spirit right here in town. If you’ve never heard of Texas Truck Yard, then this is the perfect opportunity to find a new favorite hangout spot for you and your friends.
Texas Truck Yard is a convenient place for people to relax, drink cocktails and draft beers, and try food from a rotating cast of food trucks. While the Dallas Truck Yard staff serve a few basic food items with their brews, the biggest attraction is the wide range of food trucks that occupy the space from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. It’s impossible to predict exactly what kind of food will be available when they open in Fort Worth, but you might see Tex-Mex, fusion, Americana, Italian, and halal options.
Hotel Drover
Now open, Hotel Drover is a unique hospitality experience, perfect for out-of-town guests or a stay-cation of your own. Hotel Drover is a member of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, but it’s completely Texan. For centuries, drovers played a vital part in Texas’ economy and culture, as they herded longhorn cattle hundreds of miles along rugged trails. Hotel Drover pays homage to this important part of Texan history. Located in Mule Alley, a renovated space with unique restaurants and shops, the hotel is the perfect place to enjoy Texan culture.
Texan history and the natural beauty around us inspire the hotel’s rooms and suites. You’ll find rustic wood accents, genuine leather furnishings, and beautiful views of the Stockyard. Several available packages make Hotel Drover a great option for the entire family. The Lil Roper Package, for families with children, includes a library of children’s books and games and a kid-sized bathrobe in the room, as well as concierge recommendations for family-friendly activities in the area.
61 Osteria
If you’re in the mood for upscale Italian cuisine, then you’ll have a new favorite restaurant in downtown Fort Worth soon. Scheduled to open sometime in 2022, 61 Osteria promises fine dining with local ingredients in a unique setting. The restaurant will be located on the first floor of the historic First on 7th complex, a midcentury building featuring the massive statues of famous American artist and sculptor Isamu Noguchi.
At 61 Osteria, the menu will include classic Italian entrees, like bisteca alla florentina, a Northern Italian-style dry-aged steak with balsamic vinegar. The restaurant will also feature a bar for wine and craft cocktails. Because the restaurant will be on the first floor of the old bank, the space will have floor-to-ceiling windows, giving diners a view of the revitalized downtown sector. You can also eat outdoors in a large patio area among Noguchi’s statues.
