Salsa Limón

Since 2006, Salsa Limón has been serving some of the area’s best Mexican street food by brothers Ru and Milo Ramirez. Located at La Gran Plaza in Fort Worth, they’ve made it their goal to deliver an authentic taco experience, much like they enjoyed growing up in southern Mexico. Hot, spicy, and zesty are flavors that describe Salsa Limón to perfection. From mouthwatering tacos and burritos to quesadillas and specialty dishes, you’ll have a difficult time choosing which delicacy to try first. 

One of Salsa Limon’s specialties, the Torta, is a massive Mexican hoagie sandwich made with fresh-baked baguette-style bread, refried beans, pickled cabbage, onion, cilantro, and your choice of filling: asada, pollo, chorizo, barbacoa, vegetarian, and more. Pick up one of the Familia Style Packs of chicken tacos, premium tacos, or burritos. You can easily feed a family of four to six with 12 tacos or burritos, refried beans, pickled cabbage, onion, cilantro, limes, and four varieties of salsa. 

Don’t forget about the drinks! Adults can order mimosas, sangrias, or the Michelada, a seasoned salt-rimmed glass of Salsa Limon’s house-made spicy tomato mix, beer of choice, and fresh lime, garnished with celery. Other refreshments include hibiscus tea, fresh-squeezed orange juice, Mexican coke, and seasonal agua frescas. This local favorite boasts affordable prices with tacos beginning at $2.95 and quesadillas or burritos at $9.

Velvet Taco

Velvet Taco is a one-of-a-kind taco concept that serves high-quality dishes in a funky, fast-casual setting. The chefs use only the freshest ingredients and slow roast the chicken and corn. Every item on the menu is made from scratch. It’s a truly authentic taco experience.

With well over 20 varieties of tacos available, select from chicken, pork, beef, fish, or vegetarian. One Yelp user raved about the green chile pork taco and the Angus brisket taco. Stuffed in a corn tortilla, the green chile pork taco includes tomatillo corn, stewed pork, avocado, roasted poblano, mayo crema, queso fresco, cilantro rice, salsa verde, and cilantro. The slow-roast Angus brisket includes red chile mayo, avocado relish, queso blanco, and cilantro on a comté-cheese-encrusted flour tortilla.  

Velvet Taco serves brunch all day with dishes like chicken and waffles featuring crisp tenders, peppered bacon, peppercorn gravy, green apple slaw, maple syrup, red chili aioli, and chives in a waffle tortilla. Boozy libations include margaritas, beer, and specialty beverages such as Ranch Water, a mix of premium blanco tequila, lime juice, and agave nectar. Kids can choose from chicken or steak tacos, cheese, ham or chicken quesadillas, chicken tenders, or vegan-friendly Kid’s Tots.

Mariachi’s Dine-In

Mariachi’s Dine-In serves traditional Mexican fare in colorful, original, and flavor-packed dishes. Known for its friendly service, Mariachi’s opened in July 2018 in the Near Riverside district of Fort Worth. Add Lucha Verde, La Cremosa, or Brava y Fuego salsas along with a side order of rice, beans, avocado, or chips and queso to complete your taco meal.
