What’s New?

2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz
After making its debut as an entirely new generation in the 2021 model year and getting some upgrades in 2022, the SANTA CRUZ receives minor updates for 2023. It continues to include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and vehicle exit warning, but Hyundai has expanded these features to even the SE trim level for 2023.
Many technology features, including a 10.3-inch touch screen, adaptive cruise control, and traffic sign recognition, are now included or easily added to the SEL Premium trim. This is a great change, as they were previously only available with the top Limited trim.
The SEL Premium version of the 2023 SANTA CRUZ has illuminated sun visors with sliding and a standard power tilt-and-slide sunroof. It also gains adaptive cruise control with GPS curve control and automatic speed-limit matching. In addition, this trim gets an upgraded version of Hyundai’s voice recognition command software. Last but not least, a brand-new Night trim makes its debut with dark exterior accents.
Many Returning Features
With the SANTA CRUZ, you can look forward to enjoying one of the largest and coziest four-door cabins in the truck or SUV market. Hyundai provides you with comfortable and useful equipment for long journeys, such as a proximity key, a rearview auto-diminishing mirror, and push-button and remote start. You can send a digital copy of the key to trusted secondary drivers through the digital key app. In the rainy season, moisture-detecting automatic variable discontinuous windshield wipers ensure visibility like few vehicles can.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob come standard on both 2022 and 2023 models, along with a six-way or eight-way customizable driver seat. It’s easy to find the right SANTA CRUZ for you if you’re looking for warming and ventilating front seats, power windows with driver auto-down, multiple USB ports, and two-setting programming for the temperature controls, including an auto defogger. In addition, the 2023 SANTA CRUZ has ambient interior lighting throughout the upper center console and front door pockets in your choice of 64 colors.
Touch-Screen and Audio Features
New Hyundai vehicles deliver many cutting-edge audio and infotainment features, and the SANTA CRUZ is no exception. The 2022 Hyundai SANTA CRUZ has an 8-inch color touch-screen audio system on all trim levels except the Limited trim, which has a 10.25-inch touch-screen navigation system with traffic flow and incident data.
While most 2023 SANTA CRUZ models have the previous 8-inch touch screen, the SEL Premium and Limited trims now get the 10.25-inch system instead. In other words, the larger screen is more readily available when shopping for a 2023 model.
A Bose premium audio system, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, HD Radio technology, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluelink Connected Car Service, and Bluetooth hands-free with wireless audio streaming are all included in the list of infotainment features that come standard with either touch-screen system. That applies to both years of Hyundai SANTA CRUZ models, which also get 15-watt remote device charging.
Returning Hyundai Bluelink Features
Hyundai’s Bluelink Connected Car Service comes included on all trims except the SE trim on both year models of the Hyundai SANTA CRUZ. Free for the first three years, Bluelink allows you to start your SANTA CRUZ from afar, as well as lock and unlock the doors, activate the optional heated and ventilated seats, and much more.
With this handy connectivity software, you can control certain functions in your SANTA CRUZ with a voice command, such as modifying the temperature settings or muting the radio. Bluelink is standard on the 2023 Hyundai SANTA CRUZ SEL Premium and Limited trims, and the same applies to the 2022 version.
Security Features
Apart from rear child safety locks, four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock braking, and other features, the 2022 and 2023 SANTA CRUZ are equipped with SmartSense technology. This means that a long list of driver assistance, parking guidance, and collision prevention features is standard on all trims. However, despite nearly identical feature sets, there are some notable upgrades to feature accessibility and availability for 2023.
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist is now standard on all 2023 SANTA CRUZ trim levels, including the SE, which wasn’t the case for the 2022 model. The same applies to High Beam Assist, which is also standard on all 2023 trims. In addition, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go is available on SEL Premium and Limited models for 2023. Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control with curve control and Surround View Monitor is only available on the Limited for either model year.
Overall, the SANTA CRUZ is a safe and thoroughly equipped truck in any model year. Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, lane-keep assist, lane-following assist, high beam assist, driver attention warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Warning, and Rear Occupant Alert are just a few examples of safety features standard across all trims for both the 2022 and 2023 model years. You can also count on a tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control with traction control, and brake assist.
