There’s nothing quite like the sweet taste of dessert after a day or night of holiday festivities. It’s true that you can get hot cocoa and chocolate delights at any party or event, but there are times you just want something different. At Hiley Hyundai of Fort Worth, we understand that urge to have something different all too well. Variety is the spice of life, and that’s why we sell Hyundais.

We’ve put together a list of restaurants in the Fort Worth, Texas, area that highlights an array of dessert options from different types of restaurants. You can take your pick of the bunch and make your way to the one that sounds the best in your new Hyundai from our dealership.

Reata

Reata gets its name from the ranch that acted as a backdrop for the James Dean movie “Giant.” The restaurant’s menu focuses on serving up an authentic Tex-Mex dining experience using high-quality and fresh ingredients that are as innovative as they are traditional. Many excellent chefs have passed through the kitchen at Reata and left their legacy behind them in the form of entrees that will delight your senses. Chef Hector Marquez currently leads the kitchen.

Reata’s most famous dish is its dessert tacos with caramelized bananas and chocolate gravy. You get a handful of mini tacos full of sweet fillings that are great for finishing off a night of Christmas activities. Another dessert in the Tex-Mex style is the chocolate bread pudding tamale, which consists of a bread pudding wrapped in a tamale husk and drizzled with chocolate. If you’re looking for something only appropriate for adults, consider the molten chocolate cake with drunken berries and vanilla cream. The best part of Reata is the fact that their desserts are reasonably priced and highly satisfying.

Jakes Burgers and Beer

Jakes is a local chain with locations in and around the Fort Worth area, and it has been serving comfort food since 1985. The primary appeal to stopping here for a Christmas dessert is the opportunity to create awesome memories in a no-frills eating establishment that aims to deliver great food. There’s only one dessert on the menu available at all times, but it’s worth making a stop for.

Stop in to warm up after checking out the local Christmas decorations and partake of Granny Jakes mellow cake. It consists of a chocolate cake served warm with fudge-pecan icing and a marshmallow drizzle. If you happen to be looking for a sweet treat before you head out, the breakfast and weekend brunch menu includes a jumbo cinnamon roll and Jakes Famous Cinnapig, which is a cinnamon roll topped with bacon.

Piranha Killer Sushi

A sushi restaurant may not necessarily be your first thought when it comes to places to get a Christmas dessert, but Piranha Killer Sushi delivers on the concept quite nicely. The restaurant itself focuses on creating sushi dishes that combine Japanese cuisine with traditional flavors from around the Asian Pacific Rim. Owner Kenzo Tran has turned his original restaurant into a small chain of four locations in the Fort Worth area.

The dessert menu contains delights such as the tower of chocolate, banana spring roll a la mode, cheesecake with compote, tempura ice cream, crème brûlée, and green tea or red bean ice cream. The banana spring roll is the most novel dessert on the menu as it’s made to look like a traditional spring roll, but it’s made with fruit and sweet sauces instead of savory ingredients. The tempura ice cream is ice cream fried in tempura batter and served with a drizzle of strawberry and chocolate sauces.

Cookie Dough Bliss

Cookie Dough Bliss is a passion project run by a couple who decided that Fort Worth needed delicious cookie dough in their lives. You’ll find everything from pints of ready-to-eat cookie dough to dough pie and cocoa bombs to blow up your culinary senses. The store is open until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, so you can stop by and pick up unique sweets for your Christmas desserts or finish off a night checking out Christmas displays.

Some of the available flavors include mint chip, red velvet, salted caramel, monster, chocolate chip, and cake batter, of course. Vegan, gluten-free, and keto options are also available. When you’re looking for something simple yet indulgent, consider the bliss brownie, a confection made with chocolate chip dough and topped with chocolate ganache. Not sure what to try? Pick up a sampler pack that has a little of everything.

Steel City Pops

Steel City Pops takes the popsicle experience beyond your everyday bomb pop that came from the ice cream van and makes it a sublime icy experience. It’s a family-owned business that’s located in Fort Worth. Owner Jim Watkins started out by selling popsicles at a farmer’s market, then opened up a storefront to make his creations more widely available. Everything is made with natural ingredients, gluten-free, and organic whenever possible, and the ingredients are locally sourced. It’s practically a farm-to-table popsicle.

The selection of popsicles includes unique combinations of flavors such as champagne white tea, buttermilk, carrot cake, avocado, peach cream, and blood orange. There’s a sweet tea and lemonade pop for days you need to quench your thirst or a coffee pop to give you a perk. Test your taste buds with a blueberry basil or cucumber lime with mint pop. Finally, don’t forget to check out the pop of the month before it’s gone.
