Hyundai Hope on Wheels funds pediatric cancer research, impacting children’s lives in Fort Worth and other parts of the country. It has provided $225 million in grants to support over 1,300 research projects across 175 institutions.
For 25 years, Hyundai Hope on Wheels has been a beacon of hope for children with cancer. What makes the program truly special is its unique funding model. Every time a new Hyundai vehicle is sold, a donation is made to support pediatric cancer research. This means that every car purchased at our dealership contributes directly to this worthwhile cause.
The efforts of Hyundai Hope on Wheels extend far beyond monetary contributions. Hyundai actively spreads awareness and garners support for the fight against childhood cancer. From heartwarming TV commercials to community events, the team behind this initiative goes the extra mile to rally support and raise awareness.
Hyundai Hope on Wheels started with a small group of dealers but has now become a nationwide movement, with over 820 dealers proudly supporting this cause. Every year, the organization visits various children’s hospitals around the country to raise awareness and make a donation. A “Handprint Ceremony” takes place during each visit, with the handprints representing kids who fought and are fighting cancer. Each handprint symbolizes a child’s journey and serves as a reminder of our progress and the work that lies ahead. With Hyundai Hope on Wheels leading the charge, we’re determined to continue driving progress and finding a cure for pediatric cancer.
At Hyundai, our commitment to sustainability permeates every aspect of our operations. From our design studios to our manufacturing facilities, we prioritize environmentally conscious practices. Our goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045 drives us to innovate in green energy and transportation, spearheading a transition toward a more sustainable future.
To mitigate our carbon footprint, we undertake extensive measures, including planting thousands of trees to offset emissions, using recycled materials in our vehicles and manufacturing processes, and promoting low-carbon production methods. Inside our vehicles, such as the NEXO and IONIQ 5, customers will find certified biomaterials, including vegan leather, eco-paint, and recycled yarn. Such innovations showcase our commitment to sustainability inside and out.
Partnering with organizations such as One Tree Planted and Healthy Seas, we’re actively involved in initiatives to combat climate change and protect marine ecosystems. As members of the Climate Group RE100, we’re committed to achieving 100% renewable electricity by 2040-2050, using solar panels and power purchase agreements to accelerate our progress.
